This is a stand alone. What you need to know is this takes place the night of the party when Elizabeth finds Lucky in bed with Sara. Here you go.
Elizabeth huffed as she looked at her watch. The little gold and silver band hidden under the leather sleeve of her jacket. Not just any jacket, but her favorite jacket. It was only fitting that she wear it tonight. After all, it had been a gift from Jason. The man she had really wanted to be with but foolishly let walk away. He had offered her the world, literally, and she rebuffed him. He took her words to heart, leaving her standing in that park, free to be with Lucky. Look what that got her. But tonight was the turning point in her life she decided. Once Lucky got there, she was going to end things. No more games, no more pretending, no more lies. Granted it was too late for her to be with Jason. Lord only knew where he was, what island he may be on, or what far away country held his attention. But Elizabeth knew this was the right thing to do.
Working as a waitress, Elizabeth saw the woman that came in sporting cut lips, bruised cheeks, and black eyes. She never understood how a woman could stay in an abusive relationship, what kind of obligation made a person take that risk? She had made a promise to herself after that bastard Tom Baker had violated her, that she would never let a man, any man, abuse her in any way. She sighed, pushing the large chunk of chocolate bangs out of her face. Lucky had sealed his own fate when he raised his hand to her, connecting it with her face nearly two weeks ago. Of course he was immediately sorry, disguised with himself. He begged for her forgiveness, promised he would never do it again. He even told her that he had began talking with Sara at the hospital to help get his feeling out and manage his anger better.
You say you're doin' better
For your sake I hope it's true
I wish you well
But that's all that I can do
Save your "I'm sorry's"
Just leave 'em out the door
You can't make me feel guilty anymore
This was crazy. He should have been here an hour ago. Had she missed him come in? Elizabeth glanced towards the partially hidden stair case and decided to head upstairs to check and see if he had went up to his room. The old stairs creaked as she made the climb, her chunky heels thundering against the wood. She rapped her knuckles softly on room 3, shifting from left to right, waiting to see if there was an answer. She was about to turn and leave when the door opened. She gasped, the sudden shock was apparent to both of them. She ran her eyes over him and Lucky shifted uncomfortably under her glare. The sheet he clenched tightly around his waist, his tousled hair, the sweat on his brow, and the tall blonde who came into view gave Elizabeth all the affirmation she needed.
"Elizabeth, I can explain" Lucky finally got out
Elizabeth smirked, lifting an eyebrow at the statement "I bet you can but let me guess. This was just step 12 on the Dr. Sara plan on how to manage your anger. Am I right?"
"Don't blame Sara" Lucky defended "This is all my fault. Let's just talk about this OK."
You say I should stay with you
That Jesus forgives you
You pray I will, but I won't
The difference is
Jesus loves you, I don't
"Talk? That's funny because that's what I wanted to do. I guess you forgot..." she paused and looked at Sara before continuing "or maybe you just got side tracked but we were suppose to meet here tonight....about an hour ago. Funny thing how time just slips away when your preoccupied."
"Elizabeth..." Lucky was silenced by Elizabeth's small hand being raised up.
"I can see you're busy so I won't keep you. It's over Lucky. It's been over for a long time. You're free to do what and who you want" with that Elizabeth turned and jogged down the stairs taking them two at a time
I know it sounds cruel
And it's really not like me, but
You've put me in a place
I never thought I'd be
These tears I'm crying
Are just tears of goodbye
I hope you find someone else
Somewhere in your life
Somewhere in your life
Maybe it was the emotions of the moment or perhaps the hot leather outfit, but by the time she reached the landing of the stairs, she was flushed. Her cheeks were red and her breaths came out in short huffs. She wanted to cry but didn't know if the urge came from finding her loser boyfriend in bed with her perfect sister or the simple fact that she was now free.
"Free" she whispered, the one little word bringing back a rush of memories, all containing Jason Morgan. That's all he ever wanted for her, was for her to be free.
"Elizabeth" Lucky's voice brought her back to reality as he hurried down the stairs in the jeans he didn't bother to button.
"I have nothing left to say to you Lucky" Elizabeth stood firm as he closed the space between them
"I know you're upset but you didn't mean what you said up there. You were hurt and I get that. I made a mistake. I'm sorry" Lucky groveled, totally oblivious to the on lookers who were staring at them in the full dinner.
You say I should stay with you
That Jesus forgives you
You pray I will, but I won't
The difference is
Jesus loves you, I don't
"Lucky, people are watching. Go back upstairs to your toy" Elizabeth tried to move around him but he blocked her
"I don't want Sara. I want you. It's always been you. We have this lock. No one can break it." Lucky fought to find the words that he hoped would make Elizabeth believe him
"Does Sara know this? Not that it matters" she waved it off with her hand. Her crimson colored nails looking like strikes of fire with every movement. "The locks broke Lucky. It's been broke for a long time. I thought I could fix it. I thought I could fix us. But I couldn't and I realized that I don't want to try anymore"
"But I need you" Lucky sounded sincere but Elizabeth knew better
"But I don't need you" with that she turned and walked towards the door, making her way around the tables and all that occupied them
You say I should stay with you
That Jesus forgives you
You pray I will, but I won't
The difference is
Jesus loves you, Oh I know
Jesus loves you, I don't
She was about to push the heavy door open when it swung out before her. She shivered as the rush of cold air greeted her. Leather, familiar leather was the first thing she saw. Moving her eyes up towards the face of it's owners, she smiled. The glacier blue orbs danced in the dim light as a smile played on his lips after taking in the sight before him.
Elizabeth lifted her hand and placed in on the rough stubbled cheek on the man before her, making sure he was really there.
"Jason"
